"eBay noted that Paypal represents 50% of total payments on Facebook, and by the end of ‘09, gaming company Zynga was the 2nd largest Paypal merchant after eBay. Paypal had $500MM in virtual goods revenue in ‘09, which was 2x from ‘08, and we believe this could grow by 50% in ‘10."

Another gem [pdf] from Mark Mahaney at Citicorp.

Rafer sez:
It took me a day to realize it, but virtual goods are already 5%+ of EBay’s overall revenue, and PayPal is nearly 30% (?) of it. This is some of the sexiest revenue on the planet. Is it really priced in to EBay’s stock?

HTML5 fist, after A List Apart

I’m unaware of an HTML5 video-specific blog that’s getting traction. Has anyone else seen one? If there is one, I’d be interested in getting involved.

"I’m really tired about people viewing food as the enemy. No longer are our yogurts simply fat free (do you know how hard it is to find a full fat yogurt??), they write right on the label “guilt free.” An unhealthy relationship with food is unhealthy at any weight."

Interesting comment over at Metafilter.

@noahbrier It’s actually a completely brainwashed zombie response. It’s time to start viewing much of agribusiness as the enemy. They’ve picked up all the tricks of the tobacco industry but have escaped the blame for obesity, heart disease, et al, as those diseases create less obvious cause-and-effect than cigarettes do with lung cancer and emphysema.
